In striving to be truly excellent, we embed diversity and inclusion into the fabric of who we are and believe that achieving equity makes us better as a University and stronger as a community.
Gender equity
We foster an organisational culture that is inclusive; where staff irrespective of gender participate equally at all levels. Our focus on gender equity and inclusivity has been fundamental to our organisational strategy for more than three decades.

We are driving positive change as part of a globally recognised accreditation program. Expanding beyond gender and STEMM, the framework emphasises the role of intersectionality on the broader gender equity, diversity and inclusion agenda
LGBTIQA+ staff inclusion
We value and support our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning, asexual and aromantic plus other related identities (LGBTIQA+) community at Monash.
Indigenous Australian staff
We're committed to providing equal opportunities and a culturally safe workplace for our Indigenous staff members.
Disability inclusion
We support an equitable and inclusive working environment for staff with disabilities, ongoing medical or mental health conditions. Neurodivergence may or may not be experienced as a disability.
Support for parents
We support staff who are parents through a range of programs, policies, and resources.
Support for carers
We recognise the importance of supporting caregiving staff in their roles as they contribute to their communities.
