Meet the next generation of IT innovators

Explore the work of our final-year master’s students, who have spent 12 weeks developing innovative IT solutions to address real-world challenges and contribute to social good.

Working in diverse teams across areas including data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, information technology and business information systems, students are closely supported by Monash academics and industry mentors.

Many of this semester’s project topics align with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, spanning areas such as community wellbeing, sustainability, digital trust, health, accessibility, cybersecurity and the future of cities.

About the unit

In the Postgraduate Industry Experience Capstone unit, student teams work on topics informed by publicly available data and focused on challenges affecting communities.

Based on their research and the strengths of their team, students identify an audience, define the problem they want to address and develop a solution. They also select the development environment best suited to their project.

Throughout the 12-week project, students receive guidance and support from Monash academics and industry mentors.
