Staff and students

Current parking arrangements on campus:

  • Free parking for staff and students in Blue and Red (staff only) permit areas will continue until further notice.
  • To park for free on campus:
    • Students: use CellOPark (app, website or phone) to register your parking sessions
    • Staff: use either CellOPark (app, website or phone) to register your parking sessions or register for a 30-day parking permit. Staff who register for a 30-day permit do not need to use the CellOPark app to register their parking
  • Parking sessions are required so that traffic officers can identify staff and students who are eligible for free parking.

Parking will continue to be free for staff and students in Blue and Red permit areas across all of our Australian campuses and locations until further notice. Please note these arrangements are only for Blue and Red permit areas, and do not include metered parking or Green and Yellow permit areas.

We will keep you informed when the free parking period ends and the payment element of Pay As You Use (PAYU) parking will commence.

Monash University operates a parking permit system for students and staff. Permit areas are defined by different colours, each with varying eligibility for usage.

Permits differ depending on whether you are a student or staff member. There are different options available for students, staff, honorary staff, executive staff and Monash Residential Services.

Students

Permit parking is provided on a Pay As You Use (PAYU) model, meaning you only pay for the time you actually park.

PAYU is a new and improved way to pay for parking. Using your mobile phone or computer, you start and stop your parking session with CellOPark and only pay for the time you are parked, charged by the minute.

Parking locations

Students can use PAYU parking in Blue permit areas at the following locations:

Campus Blue permit
Clayton All Blue areas
Caulfield Blue areas in Building J multi-level
Peninsula All Blue areas

Once you start a Blue parking session, you can travel between campuses without having to start a new session.
