Meeting our global climate goals requires urgent action, which starts with bridging the gap between research and climate action. The Climateworks Centre is at the forefront of accelerating transitions to net zero emissions for Australia, South-east Asia, and the Pacific. This is integral to limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees.

Climateworks was co-founded by Monash University and the Myer Foundation in 2009, and works within the Monash Sustainable Development Institute. It comprises a team of specialised analysts, project leaders, collaborators, and engagement reports.  Their research includes developing innovative solutions at the nexus of climate change and international development and facilitating processes to build consensus across a diverse range of stakeholders around the low carbon transition.

Climateworks’ systems of work are focused on food, land and ocean, industry, cities, energy, sustainable corporations, sustainable economies, and sustainable finance. Collectively, the Climateworks Centre plays a key role in guiding governments, businesses, and the wider community in accelerating action to reach net zero emissions goals.
