2025 Annual Report: Highlights from the past year at Monash University
A message from the Vice-Chancellor and President

Professor Sharon Pickering, Vice-Chancellor and President
Monash University achieved an extraordinary level of excellence and impact in 2025, reflecting our growing international reach and scale, and our commitment to the communities and industries around us as a genuinely global anchor institution.
It was a year of key strategic importance as the University embarked on a series of critical initiatives including our commitment to a new state-of-the-art campus in Kuala Lumpur, and our investment in the new MAVERIC advanced AI supercomputer that will secure Australia’s sovereign capability to supercharge research.
Our performance in 2025 enables us to navigate increased external volatility with care and confidence and make direct and immediate investments in our people, our teaching and research infrastructure and replacing our legacy systems.
These long-term investments and commitments position Monash as a leader in shaping the future of both education and research across Australia and internationally as a university of the Indo-Pacific.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation for your commitment. To work among the exceptional minds at Monash is a rare privilege, and one for which I am consistently grateful.
