Reopening roadmap for Victoria
7 September 2020
Following yesterday’s release of the Victorian Government’s roadmap for reopening, we are now working through the effects of these changes on our research, learning and teaching arrangements, and operations.
Monash continues to align with all Victorian Government directives, including the six principles for industry on a COVID Safe reopening, such as having a COVID Safe Plan in place.
Our COVID Safe Plan sets out the actions we are taking to protect our staff, students, visitors and wider campus communities, and our response to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 at the University.
We are seeking further advice to understand what this latest announcement means for our international and domestic students who were due to graduate at the end of semester two and have to undertake requisite practicals and assessments prior to completion, and the students who plan to commence as part of our November intake. We hope to have answers on this in the coming days, which we will communicate to those cohorts.
At the centre of every decision we have made in modifying our approach in line with government advice is the safety, health and wellbeing of each member of the Monash community.
Please reach out to the Monash support services if you need to. For free, confidential support, you can contact Monash Counselling by calling (03) 9905 3020.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding while we work through the necessary changes. Please stay safe and take care.
