Frequently asked questions

FEE-HELP for Domestic students

If you are not offered a CSP, you will pay the full fee for your course to the University.

Many students are eligible for FEE-HELP from the government to help cover the costs of their degrees, and most students select this option.

Austudy and Science Masters courses

Currently, students of the Master of Environment and Sustainability may be eligible for Austudy. Other Science masters programs do not qualify at this time.

The approval of a master’s course for student support payments is subject to strict guidelines which can be accessed on the Department of Social Services website. The main criteria are summarised here:

  • accreditation by a recognised professional body; and/or
  • admission to a profession; and/or
  • registration with a state/territory governing body

As each master’s course is approved for delivery at Monash, it is subject to a rigorous internal review process to determine whether the course would be eligible for support payments according to the criteria at that time.
