Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science
Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science
A Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science double degree focuses on real life problems to help understand the interaction between engineering and society. The combinations of engineering and science fields are almost limitless, providing many possible career choices.
Please note you are unable to specialise in Biomedical Engineering in this double degree.
You have the option to select from one of nine engineering specialisations and up to two of 25 science areas (e.g. one major and one minor).
You might combine Aerospace Engineering with an Astrophysics major to work on cutting-edge space exploration and satellite technology, or pair Chemical Engineering with Chemistry to focus on developing innovative materials or improving industrial processes. If you’re interested in advancing robotics technology and intelligent systems, you might combine Computational Science with the Robotics and Mechatronics - Artificial Intelligence specialisation.
Key course information:
- Common engineering first year - Your studies commence with a common first year where you will develop the foundational skills for engineering while sampling various branches of engineering. At the end of your first year, you will nominate your specialisation.
- Continuous Professional Development - You are required to complete a minimum of 420 hours of professional and Engineering-replated experiences outside of the classroom throughout your degree in order to graduate.
- Professional accreditation - Upon successful completion of this double degree, you will be accredited with Engineers Australia. This means that your qualification will be automatically recognised in 21 countries across the world.
