Cost
As a Monash staff member, you and your immediate family members receive a discounted fee for appointments, but you'll need to pay for any vaccinations, special dressings, procedures, and medicines. For work-related travel and immunisations, you’ll need to pay for your visit and claim a refund from your faculty or department.
Please ask about costs at the time of your consultation.
All accounts must be paid the same day as your appointment.
Appointment types
A Telehealth appointment is an appointment with a doctor that’s done over the phone, or – as long as you’ve visited UHS in the past 12 months – by video call.
We recommend you continue to visit our UHS clinics for regular health checks and routine follow-up appointments that can't be provided through Telehealth. Appointments requiring in-person attendance include:
- clinical placement
- childhood vaccinations
- antenatal care
- wound care
- cervical screening
- blood pressure checks
- pathology tests.
If you're coming in, you'll need your:
- M-Pass
- Medicare, OSHC, or Health Care Card
- IHI number (for non-Medicare cardholders).
Registration forms
If you’re a new patient, you’ll need to complete a registration form before your first visit.
You can either:
- register online through HotDoc:
- print and fill out the patient registration form (pdf, 0.93 mb) – make sure you bring it with you on your first visit.
Non-Medicare cardholders
All non-Medicare cardholders will need to have an IHI number to receive electronic prescriptions. This means that if you see a doctor for a Telehealth appointment, they can send your script to you electronically (usually via SMS).
Privacy
To find out more about how your personal information is handled and protected, check the UHS Data Protection and Privacy Collection Statement (pdf, 0.14 mb).
