General practitioner appointments
You can see a GP to discuss your mental health (which you can choose to access through our University Health Services). A GP can determine if a Mental Health Care Plan may be helpful to you – this allows you to claim sessions with Medicare with a mental health professional.
Care Plans are available for people to receive the support they need. A GP may organise one for you if they suspect or diagnose you with a mental health condition.
If you need to see a mental health professional, your GP can recommend one to you. Alternatively, you can look up the national psychologist database and tell your GP who you want to see.
