With the new year underway we will be opening new channels for you to connect to the Faculty, and to each other.
2015 is a year to celebrate as the Faculty of Information Technology turns 25. What a milestone! The first standalone faculty of information technology in Australia was formed at Monash in July 1990 as a result of the merger with the Chisholm Institute of Technology. 25 years on we are at the forefront of global IT research and education and the only university in Australia with a dedicated IT Faculty. We are currently educating over 3,000 students across Australia, South Africa and Malaysia, and have over 30,000 alumni around the world leading transformational change through the use of technology. With world class research centres in Organisational and Social Informatics, Data Science and Immersive Analytics, we aim to use information technology to innovate tomorrow's world for the benefit of society and to educate our students to become global technology leaders.
We will continue to increase the value of your degree in the marketplace through the quality of our teaching and our research and, with your help, we can be greater. We welcome your feedback and involvement in our programs and offerings, a this will help us to keep on raising the profile of Monash University graduates. To find out how you can get involved in a way that works for you, please contact Nicole Frankel, Alumni Relations Manager at nicole.frankel@monash.edu.
This edition of Reconnect showcases the achievements and successes of some of our students, staff, alumni and friends. We look forward to staying connected with you, hearing about all that you achieve and encouraging you to take advantage of the ways in which the Faculty of Information Technology, and Monash more broadly, can best support you.
