2025 Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumnus of the Year: Mark McManamny

Mark is a distinguished leader in the engineering industry and an accomplished alumnus of Monash University, where he graduated with Honours in Civil Engineering. He currently serves as the Chief Executive for AECOM Australia New Zealand, overseeing a team of more than 4,000 professionals delivering impactful projects across transport, water, environment, buildings, resources, and energy sectors.

Throughout his career, Mark has driven transformative change in infrastructure and industry practices. He has led AECOM’s growth into water, program management, and energy markets, and steered major city-shaping projects such as Melbourne’s Level Crossing Removal Program, the Metro Tunnel, and the North East Link concept design. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing ESG outcomes, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion, and fostering a thriving workplace culture.

Mark’s contributions extend beyond corporate achievements, he has played a pivotal role in industry advocacy, including supporting initiatives for Melbourne’s free CBD tram service and mentoring the next generation of engineering leaders. His commitment to excellence and his profound impact on both AECOM and the broader community make him a truly deserving recipient of the Alumni of the Year Award.
