Our research

Research in Chemical and Biological Engineering

Our focus

Our researchers are leading the way in pollution control, energy management, and transformation of waste into useful products. This incorporates such projects as; bioplastics from paper and food waste, recycling tyres to generate fuel and implementing wastewater processes to create clean drinking water for developing countries. Our researchers make real-world impact on a global scale.

Research themes

Research in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Monash is organised into eight key areas, and at any time our researchers are working across a number of chemical and biological engineering fields.
