Engineering coursework programs offer a balance of theory and practice, with an emphasis on industry-driven projects. Engineering programs, particularly at a Masters level, may include the option of a minor or major thesis component.

On-campus postgraduate programs

Master of Professional Engineering

This two year degree provides students who already have an engineering degree the opportunity to gain entry to the profession. You will build on your undergraduate experience by choosing from five engineering specialisations and deepen your knowledge through core units and advanced level technical units in your chosen area. In preparation to be a professional engineer, you explore the contemporary and complex global issues affecting organisations. You also learn to perform data analysis on industrial scenarios and make recommendations that support business growth. Outside the classroom, you complete the equivalent of 12 weeks Continuous Professional Development. The course has been designed to meet the Stage 1 competencies for accreditation by Engineers Australia (EA). The Faculty has commenced the accreditation process for full recognition by EA.

Master of Advanced Engineering

Our Master of Advanced Engineering program moves you beyond a base-level engineering qualification, to explore your specialisation at an advanced level. Created for engineers with ambition, this qualification will advance your skills and gives you a competitive advantage to lead innovation and drive industry change in your engineering field. Become a transformational, global, and socially-responsible leader and engineer with the Master of Advanced Engineering. Choose from one- and two-year programs, available in 11 specialisations with a broad choice of electives designed to provide breadth to your degree.

Online postgraduate programs

We offer three postgraduate programs fully online. This flexible delivery allows you to maintain your professional career and study at your own pace, whilst gaining an expert master's qualification. Following the flipped classroom approach, instructional content is delivered before interactive teaching and learning activities such as virtual tutorial sessions and discussion forums. Academic assistance with the materials can be obtained by email, telephone or online. Discussion groups are also available.

The following programs are offered over three levels of study: Masters, Postgraduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate.

The Master of Bioproduct Manufacturing Engineering will suit engineers already working in bio-based industries and also new graduates with related qualifications who want to play a vital role in the transformative technologies for the future in the sustainable global bio-economy. Delivered exclusively online with all course material available via short videos, worked examples, practice scenarios, and other unit-relevant activities, such as projects and lab reports.

International Double Master Programs with Southeast University (SEU) China

The Monash-Suzhou partnership combines academic and research excellence focussed on making positive changes worldwide.  There are three engineering Double Master Programs available that take 1.5 to 2.5 years of full-time study to complete (depending on the units chosen). Studies are undertaken at the SEU-Monash campus in Suzhou, China, and students also have the opportunity to undertake one semester of study at Monash University’s Clayton campus in Melbourne, Australia).
