Welcome to the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, where we design and build systems that move, often at incredible speeds. From robots and rockets to cars and biomedical implants, our work spans a broad spectrum of innovative and impactful technologies.

Our department is driven by pioneering research and consistently ranks among the top 60 Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering programs globally. We are leaders in mechatronics, fluid dynamics, solid mechanics, and biomechanics.

At the heart of everything we do—both in research and teaching—is a commitment to impact.
