My research is primarily focused on improving flood forecasting accuracy using data assimilation of various real world hydro-meteorological observations from remotely sensed imagery, crowd-sourcing and river gauges. My research interests include remote sensing, hydrology, and data assimilation.
Research interest: Shihab's research interests lie in the different aspects of infrastructure management, particularly life-cycle cost analysis, service life estimation of structures, corrosion degradation in structures and estimating the value of structural health monitoring information.
Research interest comprises the study of ionospheric phenomena like meteors using MST radar and the Cryosphere studies using SAR data. The Ph.D. project title is “Monitoring Snow Water Equivalent in the Indian Himalayas.”
