Greenroof and greenwalls/living walls

The Living Laboratory is equipped with a series of Greenwalls/Living Walls. Their design was based on the work conducted by Veljko Prodanovic and Harsha Fowdar. The walls are fed using rainwater collected from the roof of the Living Lab facilities which is then stored in a large underground tank located underneath the premises. The watering system is fully automated but also allows for manual setting. Each roof is equipped with a cabinet where monitoring equipment can be installed for any further experiment. Indeed all wall can be independently tested using various water quality and water source as well as watering regime.

This state of the art installation will allow for further research in the performances of greenroof, greenwalls and living walls on a large scale.
