Frequently asked questions

  • What does the RORB acronym stand for?

"The 'ROR' of 'RORB' stands for 'runoff routing'. The 'B' no longer has significance but at one time indicated that the program was developed and  maintained on a Burroughs B6700 computer."

In the early days, different computers had different language implementations (particularly for Version 1 in BASIC code), and different implementations of the  program code were produced to reflect this. Hence 'B' for Burroughs.
