Australia’s space minds convene at Monash

Yesterday, Larry James Lt Gen, (USAF (Ret), Professor of Practice in Space Innovation at Monash Engineering, spoke at Day One of the Australian Space Research Conference 2025.
Held at Monash City Campus (Melbourne), Professor James contributed to an opening session entitled "National Context." Moderated by Professor Iver Cairns from the University of Sydney, panellists included Dr Catherine Grace, General Manager, National Space Capability, Technology and Programs at the Australian Space Agency, and Dr Alex Held, Chief Scientist Earth Observation and AquaWatch at CSIRO.
Of the conference, Professor James says "The Australian Space Research Conference is the primary Space Research Conference in Australia and brings together an incredible array of researchers across the country."
He continued saying "Covering key topics like Australia’s role in the global earth research community and the accomplishment of our researchers in developing space capabilities for the good of Australia and humanity, the conference is critical to exchanging ideas and raising the bar for space research across Australia. Monash University is honoured to host this important event!"
