From Monash to Manhattan

Monash University has announced 10 successful students who will participate in the 2026 Global Discovery Program (GDP).
The highly competitive program offers a fully funded 10-day study tour of New York City. This July, Monash students will connect with global alumni leaders, gain first hand exposure to international industries, and build the skills and networks needed for future global careers.
Monash Engineering is delighted Angelina Mantelos - currently completing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce - has been selected for this year's GDP.
Angelina has contributed to Monash Motorsport and Monash Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), developing experience in project delivery, stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary problem-solving. She is also a co-developer of Monash’s "Engineering Ethics Pledge", reflecting her commitment to responsible, human-centred innovation.
She will use the GDP to examine how global organisations in New York navigate rapid technological change while maintaining ethical decision-making and human values, with the goal of returning with practical frameworks for adaptive leadership in complex environments.
Monash Engineering congratulates Angelina on this outstanding achievement, and wishes her well for her time in the city that never sleeps.
