Monash University and Manipal Institute of Technology have announced a new dual-degree pathway that will enable Indian students to complete engineering studies across India and Australia.

From August 2026, eligible students will begin their Bachelor of Technology at Manipal before transferring to Monash for the final two years of study, graduating with degrees from both institutions in areas including chemical engineering and software engineering.

For engineering students, the program will provide advanced training in areas such as industrial process design, reaction engineering and sustainable systems, alongside project-based learning aligned with real-world challenges.

Professor Parthiban Rajendran, Deputy Dean (Education) at Monash Engineering, said the collaboration will help prepare graduates to tackle global challenges.

“Chemical engineers play a vital role in tackling global challenges, from clean technologies to safer, more sustainable industrial systems,” he said. “This dual degree partnership will provide students with rigorous technical foundations and practical design experience, preparing them to contribute with confidence in a rapidly evolving sector.”

The partnership reflects Monash’s growing engagement with India and aims to equip future engineers with the global perspective and technical expertise needed for industries ranging from advanced manufacturing to clean technology.
