Mr. Aryan Awasthi
Aryan is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Monash University (mid-2025), with a minor in Renewable Energy Engineering. Having commenced his studies in mid-2021, he was awarded the prestigious Sir John Monash International Excellence Scholarship, granted annually to ten top performing international students, and consistently ranked among the highest achieving students in his cohort.
He currently works as a Graduate Engineer at Expert Water Modelling. In this role, he applies core process and chemical engineering principles such as fluid mechanics, systems modelling, and controls thinking to water and wastewater hydraulic networks and infrastructure projects.
Alongside his professional work, Aryan served as a Teaching Associate across three core first year engineering units at Monash University, ENG1011, ENG1012, and ENG1014. In ENG1012, student groups he mentored received awards for Best Mockups and Best Technical Drawings. Aryan gained extensive hands on industry experience across both Australia and India, working across oil and gas, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, detailed hydraulics and transient analysis, and specialty chemicals. His engineering experience spans FEED, HAZOP, and cost estimation from Class 1 to Class 5, along with technical skills in Aspen Plus, PetroSIM, Navisworks, MATLAB, COMSOL, and WANDA Deltares. He led design and optimisation work in hazardous area classification, condenser and pump sizing, process simulations, and sustainability focused wastewater treatment.
Outside of technical work, Aryan drove STEM outreach as an Events Coordinator for Robogals, organising events for over 300 school students to champion gender diversity in engineering He remains passionate about creating impact at the intersection of industrial sustainability, efficiency, and safety, and continues to push himself to lead by example both in the classroom and in industry.
