Associate Professor Dave Bark received his PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology and comes to Monash University after serving as faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and from Colorado State University, School of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering where he pioneered research in how blood proteins and cells respond to mechanical stress, especially in the presence of mechanical circulatory support and prosthetic heart valves.
