Annual awards 2025
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is pleased to share about the 2025 Annual Awards Ceremony, a highlight on our calendar that recognises the outstanding achievements of our students, staff, alumni, and industry partners.
This year's ceremony marked our first under the department's new name, reflecting our broadened commitment to addressing the complex challenges of sustainable infrastructure, environmental stewardship, and resilient communities.
About the Awards
Held annually, this event celebrates academic excellence, research innovation, teaching quality, and leadership within the department. It’s a chance for our community to come together and acknowledge the accomplishments that are shaping the future of civil and environmental engineering. This year’s ceremony was on Wednesday 4 June 2025 and attended by over 170 guests, an evening full of celebratory vibe.

2025 Award for Excellence in Teaching - Colin Caprani
This award is presented for excellence in teaching leading to improved outcomes, transferable knowledge and understanding across other units in the Department.
2025 Award for Best Teaching Associate - Tamara Herzog
This award is presented to a Teaching Associate who exemplified outstanding understanding of the unit structure and academic content, and provided highly effective assistance and support to students.

For significant contribution to teaching in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2024
2025 Award for Excellence in Research - Liton Kamruzzaman
