Meet our Board members

Sigmatech Engineering Consultants.
After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer in 1989, Andrew has been employed in design, development, and management roles at companies including small consultancies, GM Holden, Iveco Trucks Australia, and Dana Australia. This included 16 years at GM Holden in various engineering roles, several years as the Director of Quality at Iveco Trucks Australia, and current employment senior partner, Sigmatech Engineering Consultants.
Andrew's philosophy is that all engineering activities require a combination of technical knowledge combined with the ability to rationally solve problems. Therefore, Andrew places a heavy emphasis on the continual development of technical knowledge in parallel with implementing process and support structures for effective problem solving. Andrew is passionate about motor vehicles, which has led to several decades of racing, authoring several books and many magazine articles, as well as a long line of personal car and motorcycle projects.

Energy Terrain Pty Ltd
Graduating with a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering double degree in 2005 from Monash, Paul began his professional career working for GKN Aerospace Engineering Services on the JSF F-35 jet fighter. Then, like many Aerospace professionals, moved into the renewable energy industry where he has since become a Project Manager. He has contributed to the development of multiple utility-scale energy projects for Systems Pty Ltd, and now is Director and CEO of Energy Terrain Pty Ltd.

DMTC
Dr Mark Hodge has served as Chief Executive Officer of DMTC since its inception in June 2008, overseeing the organisation’s success in a range of Defence activities and its transition to a sustainable industry capability partner under the 2016 Defence Industry Policy Statement.
Mark is a passionate advocate for applied research, science and technology in the defence of Australia and its national interests, and an experienced leader who has worked in the defence and aerospace fields in Australia and the United States. He is a fellow of The Academy of Technical Science and Engineering.

Melbourne Water
Joined Melbourne Water in 2008 and works in Applied Research within Integrated Planning. In addition to over three decades of experience in all areas of public works engineering, he has been involved with Standards Australia for nearly ten years, and was part of a national Steering Committees that produced two editions of the International Infrastructure Management Manual, numerous engineering Practice Notes, and the first edition of the Australian Infrastructure Financial Management Guidelines. He has a Masters of Engineering (Building and Civil) and a Masters of Business Administration (Technology Management).

Dr Angelo Pacella graduated with BSc in 1991 and BDSc 1994 from Melbourne University. Angelo has experience in heavy vehicle engineering and was involved with robotic and non-robotic automation from 1999 to 2008. This included overseeing design, building, installation and training of commissioned projects.
Currently, Angelo is on the board of a professional organisation and holds directorships on several research and development companies. He is also involved with training and mentoring of undergraduate students.
Angelo has a special interest in the progression of manufacturing in Australia and the implementation of smart technology enabling Australian companies to be more competitive. Angelo is currently on a team, working on a project developing a fluid pathway for industry to engage with the University and mechanical engineering students. This will further promote a relationship for industry to develop ideas utilizing research done in collaboration with the University. This will also open up future employment opportunities for MUME students.

Holden Ltd
Peter is a graduate of Monash University with 18 years experience in the automotive industry. In that time, he has worked with Audi and Nissan in various design and development roles before joining Holden Ltd where he has been for the last 14 years. Peter's current role is in Planning and Program Management where he is the Program Manager for Holden's vehicle programs from conception to production. He holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering as well as an MBA.

Australian Road Research Board (ARRB)
Dr Richard Yeo has extensive research and management experience in the roads sector. He has held key roles with VicRoads, the Australian Road Research Board and Austroads. His current role is Austroads Program Manager, Assets, leading Australasian research programs covering asset management, pavements, surfacings, bridges, project delivery and tunnels on behalf of member road agencies.
Richard is a member of a number of national and international committees including Standards Australia Committee MB019 Asset Management (ISO 55000 series) and BD104 on Building Information Modelling (BIM). Richard holds a Master of Engineering from RMIT and a PhD from Monash in the areas of construction quality and pavement materials testing respectively.
