Why did you choose Monash?
This course provides a wide range of subjects that I am interested in, not only mechanical engineering but I can also enhance my knowledge in related topics in electrical engineering and business. Moreover, the two elective subjects are perfect for me, so that I can tailor my master degree to the subjects that I am specifically interested in.
Australian universities have high international recognition and they are very supportive for international students. It is also a safe country and not too far from my home country.
What was the highlight of your course?
I believe the entire course is the highlight as I always learn something new along the way. Each subject does not just teach me about technical knowledge but I also improve my soft skills such as critical communication, analytical thinking and self-discipline.
Where did you find support to help you in your studies?
Monash library has plenty of resources for helping to me to improve my speaking and writing skills through many free courses. I find it very useful. I have also received great support from the academic staff, especially for my engineering project.
What advice do you have for prospective students?
I would recommend overseas students to take an English course at Monash before the semester start because the benefit is not just language skills but it is a good time that you can adjust yourself to the new environment and most importantly, explore Melbourne!! Because when the semester start, you will be extremely busy.
What do you hope to do after graduating?
As I have been working in oil and gas industry I would like to use my knowledge and my experience be part of the contribution to make oil and gas industry become sustainable, more economical to explore and operate, safer and more environmental friendly.
