What attracted you to engineering?

Engineers are the ones who are capable of transforming the world, the best problem solvers and innovators. I believe we can engineer anything as long as we have the ideas and resources. I always enjoy the excitement of getting to know and use new technology to create practical solutions to various challenges.

Apart from study, what else are you involved in both at Monash and off campus? (Paid work, sport, clubs, hobbies etc)?

Monash has various clubs and activities for students to join. The engineering student's society particularly provides many huge events including camps, free food, and numerous industrial/networking events that guarantee all the fun we engineering students need while also helping to connect students with people in the industry which can improve your career prospects. I had the opportunity to work as a casual research assistant under the supervision of my final year project supervisor during the summer of my third year. The experience that I gained through that short period alone is extremely valuable.

What was the highlight of your course? What was the best thing about being a student at Monash?

I was lucky enough to be awarded a scholarship from Monash for my degree. I was also invited to join the Engineering Leadership Program, which has been the best thing I ever went through at Monash. The program provides various leadership training sessions, including presentations from many great leaders. I think that the skills I learnt from those nights has definitely put me ahead of my peers quite a bit. However, the most memorable part of the program for me was the many unique networking opportunities such as industry visits and the annual leadership dinner. Meeting real world professional engineers and leaders always gives me that once in a lifetime vibe because it enables me to talk to people who share the same passion, knowledge and also give me great advice.
