Mr. Umer Elmahadi Elfaki
Omer Elmutasim Elmahadi Elfaki is currently doing his PhD project on Direct ammonia solid oxide fuel cells (DA-SOFCs). Afterward, He received his MSc degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 2017 for his research on oxidative dehydrogenation of a hydrocarbon stream using a bimetallic catalyst. He was awarded BSc degree in chemical engineering at University of Khartoum in 2013. Prior to joining Monash university, He worked as research associate at Centre for Catalysis & Separation (CeCaS) -Khalifa University for 4 years.
Omer has multi-disciplinary expertise in heterogeneous catalysis, spanning from experimental catalysis (materials synthesis, characterization, and testing) to computational catalysis using Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations coupled with microkinetic modelling and molecular dynamic simulations to guide the discovery of optimal catalysts. He has published 12 journal publications and 2 granted patents.
