His career has evolved from early research at Department of Atomic Energy [Govt of India] to leading translational crop innovation and policy engagement, including contributions to landmark initiatives such as the deregulation of Panama TR4-resistant genetically modified banana in Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. Prior to joining Monash University, he held a senior leadership position within the Northern Territory Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, where he led diverse teams and partnerships to deliver practical, industry-focused solutions in horticulture and sustainable agriculture.
