Dr. Wei Lin Ng (she/her)

Assistant Lecturer
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering

Biography
Dr Wei Lin Ng (she/her) is a chemical engineer and an education-focused academic in the
Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. She completed her PhD in the
department, where her research involved nanomaterials synthesis (including wet-chemistry
methods and 3D-printed platforms) for the development of catalysts for the sustainable
conversion of carbon dioxide into fuels and chemicals. Her work drew on core chemical
engineering principles, including reaction kinetics, reactor design and optimisation, process
development and integration, and techno-economic analysis. She also has experience using
a range of characterisation techniques to investigate nanomaterials across atomic-to-
nanoscale length scales.

Dr Ng teaches primarily into first-year engineering unit and has previously contributed to
selected third-year courses. She adopts a student-centred approach that emphasises
conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and the development of professional
engineering capabilities.
