Dr Wenle Weng is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering (ECSE). He received his PhD in Physics in 2016 from the University of Western Australia, where he worked on crystalline optical microresonators.

From 2017 to 2021, Dr Weng was a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), conducting research on microresonator frequency combs, nonlinear photonic spectroscopy, and soliton dynamics. He then joined the University of Adelaide as an ARC DECRA Fellow (2021–2025), where he developed advanced microphotonic sensors and miniaturised narrow‑linewidth laser systems.

Dr Weng joined Monash University in 2026 and leads the Precision Photonics Laboratory (PPL). His research focuses on the development of high‑performance photonic technologies for sensing, metrology, and information processing.
