Level 1, Room # 149, 20 Research Way, Clayton
I am a lecturer (teaching and research) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Monash University, Australia. My interest lies in the intersection of materials science and data science. I work with a small, agile group focused on understanding and intelligently utilising metal resources during the energy transition. Our work spans industry-driven projects that address immediate needs and fundamental research that may create a lasting impact.
Research Topics:
- Green metal: green iron, steel recycling, green aluminium, advanced alloys, with an emphasis on phase transformations;
- Machine intelligence for characterisation and ML-driven materials design;
We are currently inviting applications for PhD and Postdoctoral positions starting in January 2026 (see openings):
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Machine Learning for In Situ Characterisation of Phase Transformation in Green Metals
- PhD opportunity on Australian Green Ironmaking (closed)
- PhD opportunity on Phase Transformations in Advanced Steel Design (closed)
- PhD opportunity on Recycling-Oriented Design of Microalloyed Green Steels (closed)
- Postdoc opportunity on Australian Green Ironmaking (closed)
