2026 Computing Education Summit Hosted by the Computing Education Research Group, Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University.

Join us for the 2026 Computing Education Summit, a gathering designed to connect scholars, educators, and anyone passionate about the future of computing education. The summit will explore current trends and challenges in the field, including the growing influence of AI on teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and the broader educational ecosystem.

We are also thrilled to feature an exciting keynote address by Professor Paul Denny from University of Auckland, alongside a series of Teaching and Learning Project Pitches, opportunities to collaborate and engage, Lightning Talks showcasing innovative practices and recent publications, and ongoing work in computing education.

The summit includes two panel discussions: an academic panel with leading scholars, and an industry panel featuring experts in employment and recruitment.

The academic panel examines how generative AI is reshaping assessment in higher education, with a focus on teaching practice and student experience. Panellists will discuss practical, future focused approaches to assessment design that move beyond detection toward meaningful, authentic learning. The session emphasises actionable strategies academics can adopt now to support students, maintain integrity, and design assessments fit for an AI enabled future.

This industry panel examines how generative AI is reshaping skills, hiring expectations, and real world professional practice. Industry panellists will share what is happening now, what skills matter most, and how graduates can prepare for AI enabled workplaces. A student voice grounds the discussion in lived experience, highlighting the transition from university learning to employment.

The summit is free and fully catered; however, places are limited, so please register to secure your spot.
