Monash partners with Mahindra on engineering bachelor degrees

Monash University and Mahindra University, Hyderabad, have announced joint programs in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering which will allow students to graduate with bachelor degrees from each institution.
Students will commence their engineering degree at Mahindra University before transferring to Monash Engineering to complete the third and final year of the program. Mahindra University students can commence at Monash as early as July 2026.
Professor Adrian Neild, Deputy Dean Enterprise of the Faculty of Engineering at Monash University, said this announcement would benefit both universities, whilst also contributing to India’s National Education Policy (NEP).
"The NEP aims to promote an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging students to pursue their own ventures and contribute to the start-up ecosystem. Monash Engineering, with its industry focus, and world leading research facilities, is the ideal partner to provide students with this exposure,” Professor Neild said.
Dr Yajulu Medury, Vice-Chancellor of Mahindra University, said this partnership with Monash will open a world of opportunities for their students, offer a chance to study across two continents and benefit from the strengths of both institutions.
“The opportunity will help our students gain new perspectives on the global knowledge system and its exchange,” Dr Yajulu said.
