A day of discovery at Monash Engineering

Last week, Monash Engineering welcomed 88 Year 10 to 12 students to campus for the latest Monash Engineering Girls - "MEG" event, giving participants the opportunity to explore Biomedical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering through a day of hands-on learning and mentoring.

Students took part in practical workshops covering touchscreen technology, electrical circuit design and biomedical engineering challenges, including designing patient-specific solutions and prototyping hand prosthetics. The sessions, delivered with support from Monash Automation and Women in Engineering at Monash (WEM), showcased the creativity and problem-solving skills at the heart of engineering.

The day concluded with a mentoring and networking session, where students connected with academic Jessica Woolley, alumna Rannee Li and Monash Engineering student ambassadors to gain insights into university life and engineering careers.
