Strengthening global ties with the University of Seoul
This week, Monash Engineering welcomed a high-level delegation from the University of Seoul to mark an important milestone in our international partnership.

Over time, Associate Professor Dong Ngoduy of Monash Civil and Environmental Engineering and Associate Professor Seunghyeon Lee of the Department of Transportation Engineering (University of Seoul) have collaborated on advanced urban transport systems modelling and optimisation.
This week, that partnership was further galvanised through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Monash’s Department of Civil Engineering and the University of Seoul’s College of Urban Science (CUS).
The MoU deepens cooperation in research and education, particularly in engineering digital twins, and will strengthen joint activities between CEE and CUS across a range of initiatives, including:
- collaborative research in areas of mutual interest
- exchange of academic materials
- scholar and student exchanges
- joint seminars, workshops and academic programs
Professor Adrian Neild, Professor Victor Chang and Marc Pizzi of Monash Engineering were pleased to host VIP guest Professor Dongjoo Park, as part of the delegation.
The MoU will be in effect for the next five years, supporting a new chapter of innovation and shared expertise between our institutions.
