Late last year, Monash DeepNeuron placed equal third in the 8th APAC HPC-AI Competition, competing against 49 university teams from across the region. The result marks the third consecutive year the team has been recognised.
Recently, students travelled to Japan to attend the "SupercomputingAsia Conference 2026," where they received their award and connected with the broader HPC and AI community.
“Working with the APAC team was extraordinary - being thrown into the world of supercomputers and AI in my first year was an incredibly challenging but enjoyable experience,” says student Luca Lowndes.
DeepNeuron’s success reflects years of student-led commitment, supported by Monash eResearch and long-time supervisor Simon Michnowicz.
Congratulations again to the team on this excellent achievement.
