Congratulations and welcome to Engineering!

Make sure you enrol by the date specified in your offer letter.

How to enrol - November intake

If you're joining us as part of the November intake, you must follow the course map sent to you. The following presentations will give you additional essential information on your course.

How to enrol - Semester 1, 2021

A list of units and the order you need to take them in is available in your course map. Be sure to follow your course map for the year you commenced to ensure that you complete on time.

Bachelors degrees

The sequencing of your engineering units is dependent on your level of maths and physics. Foundation units in maths and physics develop your understanding of the natural and physical sciences and maths that underpin all engineering disciplines. You may have completed these units in your final year of school or in tertiary study however you will need to achieved a particular grade or you will need to complete them again.

ENG1090 Foundation mathematics (Sem 1 & Nov Sem) or MTH1020 (Sem 2) Analysis of change (equivalent to VCE Specialist Maths units 3 & 4). If you have taken Gao Kao Maths you should enrol in Foundation maths. You don’t need to take foundation maths if you’ve completed:

  • VCE Specialist Maths (score of ≥30)
  • IB higher level maths (4 or above)
  • A Level mathematics (B or above)
  • MUFY Adv Maths 1 & 2 (≥ 65%+)
  • Monash College Diploma of Engineering Part 2
  • or any higher level university maths with calculus (pass grade).

Maths is the language of engineering so if you’re not confident with calculus, strengthen your maths foundation by taking ENG1090.

PHS1001 Foundation physics (equivalent to VCE Physics units 3 & 4). You don’t need to take foundation physics if you’ve completed:

  • VCE, IB or A Level Physics (pass grade)
  • MUFY Physics (≥ 65%+)
  • Physics at a tertiary level (pass grade)
  • Monash College Diploma of Engineering Part 2
  • AP Physics 1 and 2 (pass grade). If you have only completed Physics 1 or Physics C you must take PHS1001.
