Monash Engineering is delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Aijun Huang as Associate Dean International.

Professor Huang has been Director of the Monash Centre for Additive Manufacturing (MCAM) since 2021. He completed his PhD in materials science at the University of Birmingham in the UK and held senior engineering and technical expert roles with a number of multinational corporations including Baosteel Group and Rolls Royce before joining Monash in 2017.

“Even prior to taking on this role, Aijun has been very active in nurturing our current international partnerships and developing new relationships,” said Professor Yiannis Ventikos, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering

“He has used his influence and networks in China to help us establish a new 3+2 program with Wuhan University - a new partner for Monash - and is in ongoing discussions with other universities about four new transnational education (TNE) programs.”

As well as promoting Monash’s offerings in international markets, Professor Huang has broad ambitions for the new position.

“I look forward to enhancing our international programs, supporting our diverse student body, and strengthening our university's presence on the world stage," he said.

"My vision for this role is to foster a vibrant and inclusive global community within our faculty, one that celebrates diversity, encourages cross-cultural understanding, and promotes academic excellence on a global scale.”
