Global recognition in magnesium science and technology

Monash Engineering's Professor Raman Singh of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering has been named to receive the International Magnesium Award, 2025 Person of the Year.

The award celebrates individuals and organisations whose work has significantly advanced the research, development and application of magnesium and its alloys, vital materials for sustainable, lightweight and high-performance engineering.

Jointly established by the International Mg Society (IMS), Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (JMA), and the Caixing Foundation, the award honours outstanding contributions to magnesium science and technology worldwide.

Professor Singh will be recognised at the 2025 International Summit on Magnesium Materials in Ma’anshan, China this week.
