Clarivate’s 2025 Highly Cited Researchers list recognises the top 1% of research and social science leaders globally. Curated by the Institute of Scientific Information Inc. (ISI) the list highlights researchers whose publications rank in the top 1% for citations by field and year in the Web of Science™ index.

Among those recognised this year are Professor Ranjith Pathegama Gamage, an internationally acclaimed researcher in sustainable resource recovery, deep-earth energy systems and climate resilience.

Awarded the Humboldt Research Award (2025) and Senior Fulbright Fellowship (2025), his work advances Sustainable Development Goals 7, 9 and 13. He has also been named Global Research Leader in Mining and Mineral Resources by The Australian for three consecutive years (2021–2023).

Also acknowledged is Professor Huanting Wang, Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor, Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate Fellow and Pro Vice-Chancellor and President (Suzhou) at Monash University.

Professor Wang's career has been recognised with major honours including an ARC QEII Fellowship; ARC Future Fellowship; the RACI R.K. Murphy Medal; the Tony Fane Award; and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Underwood Medal.

He has held senior leadership roles across Engineering, IT and major research centres and contributes extensively to scholarly publishing. Professor Wang's research spans nanomaterials and composite membranes for gas and ion separation, water purification and electrochemical energy systems.
