Last week, the 36th Australasian Association for Engineering Education Conference was hosted by The University of Queensland in Brisbane.
The event included keynotes from Professor David Knight, Jennifer-Leigh Campbell and Jason M. Lodge whose inspiring presentation addressed the challenges and opportunities shaping our contemporary educational landscape.
A highlight was Monash Engineering student Thea Thomas’ outstanding talk, “Exploring Engineering Specialisation Selection through Personality Traits, Interests and Hobbies”, based on her final-year project.
The week concluded with winning success. Dr Tony Vo and Dr Joanne Tanner (Monash Engineering); Dr Emma Leitner (Edith Cowan University); Dr Shannon Rios (University of Melbourne); and Dr Sarah Dart (QUT (Queensland University of Technology) were recognised with the 2025 AAEE Best Research Paper Award for their work, “Exploration of Key Factors Influencing the Transition to Engineering Education Research.”
Congratulations to all research designers on this well-deserved recognition - your work is leading the field in engineering education.
