Preparing to arrive

There are things you can do before you leave home to help make the move to Australia easier.

If you can, participate in our pre-arrival briefings. There are in-country information sessions and online webinars. These briefings are a great opportunity to ask questions, meet fellow students, and learn lots of useful information about travelling to Australia, living in Melbourne, and studying at Monash.

When you book your flight, make sure you give yourself time to adjust to living in a new country, and to get used to the layout of your campus before classes start. After you book, let us know when you are arriving and we will meet you when you arrive at the airport.

Obviously, you'll need to sort out where you're going to live. Whether you want to live on-campus or elsewhere in Melbourne, we can give you housing help and advice.

You should also work out your budget before you arrive. We've set out information about the cost of living that will help.

Also, be aware of important dates. You must arrive in time to attend enrolment and orientation, as both are compulsory. See the semester dates .
