Fix timetable problems

You might not be able to log into Allocate+ if you:

• clicked on the wrong year – make sure you select the current year's tab (see Allocate+ login)
• clicked on the wrong link (we have a separate version of Allocate+ for students, staff and Monash College), see Allocate+ login
• aren't enrolled in any units – log into the Web Enrolment System (WES) and enrol in units
• just enrolled or changed your enrolment in WES (it can take up to two hours for unit changes to appear in Allocate+).

You can also try changing your browser (just make sure you’re logged in with your Monash account). For more troubleshooting help, contact eSolutions.

If these reasons don’t apply to you and you get a different error message, take a screenshot. Then, submit an enquiry through MoVA and attach the screenshot so we can investigate further.

If you can't allocate yourself into an activity because it's full:

1. Log into Allocate+ regularly, as we'll be working to make more places available. And don't worry, we'll work with you to make sure your timetable is complete before the start of your teaching period.
2. If it’s a lecture or seminar, see if there is an Online in Real Time option available.
3. You can request to swap into a full class in Allocate+. Simply click the heart icon next to the full activity. For details, see submitting a swap request.
4. Alternatively, you can request course advice to find out if there are other units you can enrol in instead. Allocate+ now has a planner function that allows you to see how your timetable will look – even for units you're not currently enrolled in. For details, see Student Timetable Planner.

If you didn't enter any preferences in Allocate+, the system will make selections for you. If these timeslots don't suit you, you'll have a chance to change them when Allocate+ opens for adjustments (if places are available).

Check the Allocate+ dates page for when the system is in:

• preference entry
• allocation adjustment
• read-only mode.

Your unit(s) may not be showing in Allocate+ because:

• you're not looking at the current Allocate+ site: Make sure you haven’t selected the tab for the wrong year on the Allocate+ login page
• you recently changed units: Unit changes can take up to two hours to display in Allocate+ after submitting them in the Web Enrolment System (WES)
• you aren't enrolled in any units: Log into the Web Enrolment System (WES) to enrol in units first
• your course doesn't use Allocate+ for some or all of its timetabling: To check if this applies to you, submit a timetabling help form
• you haven't selected the student login: You may have selected the Monash College student or staff tab on the Allocate+ login page.

If none of these apply to you, submit the timetabling help form.

When Allocate+ opens in adjustment mode, don't worry if your timetable is incomplete. Although we can’t guarantee you’ll get your preferences, we’ll work with you to make sure you have a complete timetable. Log into Allocate+ every few days to check for changes.

If you’re missing a lecture

Pre-recorded lectures don’t appear in Allocate+. So if you’re missing a lecture, check Moodle for the details near the start of semester.

The activity is showing as OFF or NO GROUP AVAILABLE

If an activity appears as OFF in Allocate+, your timetable may not be ready for you to enter preferences or make changes. Check the Allocate+ dates to see when you can edit your timetable.

If an activity shows as NO GROUP AVAILABLE in Allocate+, it could be because:

• the unit is being taught online or off-campus
• no activities are being scheduled, or
• the faculty hasn't released the unit activities yet.

If you're a Monash Online student

Your unit won't display activities.

If you have a clash between two activities, click the Clash button in Allocate+ to check which of your activities are clashing. Try to adjust your timetable to resolve the clash if you can.

If the only clash-free option is full, you should submit a swap request instead.

If you can’t resolve the clash, your options will depend on the type of clash you have:

• Clashes with electives: You may need to change units. We recommend you request course advice and check the Handbook for options.
• Clashes with core units: If your clash is between two core-unit activities you're required to attend, submit a timetabling help form and we’ll help you out.
• Once-off clashes (including clashes with mid-semester assessments): If there’s no clash-free options available, submit a timetabling help form to let us know.

If your classes are clashing with work or personal commitments, you can make changes to your timetable during the allocation adjustment period.

It's first-come, first-served during the adjustment period, so if you want to make changes to your timetable or submit a swap request, do it as soon as possible.

If you have on-campus activities, you’re expected to attend them in person.

But you should only attend Monash’s Australian campuses and facilities if you have no COVID-19 symptoms and feel well.

Arriving in Australia

You should be able to see on-campus options in Allocate+.

If you’ve arrived in Australia but you can’t see any on-campus activity options, contact us through the timetabling help form – we’ll review your enrolment and adjust your timetable to show on-campus classes (if they’re available for your unit).

If you've got back-to-back classes in different buildings, you're probably worried about getting to class on time.

Campus maps help you to estimate the time it takes to get from one class to another.

All classes start right on the scheduled time, so aim to arrive five minutes early. Classes finish about 10 minutes before the hour, to give you time to get to your next class on time.

If you're late, enter the class quietly through a rear or side door. If you're likely to be a few minutes late each time, speak to your lecturer.

Be careful about scheduling too many classes back-to-back. You might find it hard to stay focused for several hours in a row.

If you’re travelling outside Australia during the year, you might not be able to select on-campus classes in Allocate+. If you’re returning to Australia to attend on-campus classes, get in touch with us with the Timetabling Help form and we’ll update your activity options.
