How to confirm enrolment status or qualification
We strongly recommend that you use our online form to confirm a Monash University student’s current enrolment status or graduate’s qualification. But you can also search one of our databases to check a degree awarded at a graduation ceremony.
Students, graduands and graduates
Students who need to provide proof of their enrolment status, qualification, forecast completion date or graduation can order a student letter.
If you've finished your course or are recently graduated and waiting to receive your documents to apply for a job, you can use your:
- academic record (transcript)
- proof of qualification letter
- formal conferral letter (research students - you’ll receive this within a month of your thesis certification - otherwise use another option).
Once you’ve received your digital graduation documents, you can share them with your prospective employer through My eQuals. See sharing your digital documents.
Using the online form to check enrolment or qualifications
To confirm enrolment status or qualification with our online form, you need written consent from the student or graduate as this information is confidential. Our staff will run a comprehensive search that includes checking non-electronic records.
Searching a database to check qualifications
To check a past Monash student’s degree, search one of our databases.
Monash graduates database: 1978 – present
To search our Monash graduates database, you need to know the graduate's full name, and their date of birth or year of graduation.
If you can’t find the graduate, it could be that:
- they’ve successfully completed their course, but have not attended an official graduation ceremony
- their name has changed since graduating
- your spelling or formatting of their name does not match ours
- they graduated before 1978.
Graduation ceremonies databases: 1963 – 2010
Monash staff
Our graduation ceremonies databases cover ceremonies held by the University from 1963 to 2010, and by its amalgamation partners from 1968 to 1990. You’ll need to log in to access these databases.
Employers who are not Monash staff
If you’re not a Monash staff member, email archives@monash.edu for information about ceremonies during these years.
Keep in mind that the University Archives can’t verify qualifications or provide academic transcripts – contact Monash Connect instead if this is what you need.
Confirming authenticity of documents
For details, go to how to check the authenticity of graduation documents.
Post-nominal search
Post-nominals are the abbreviations of awards, which appear on your certificate. You can use a search to find the post-nominal for an award, or vice versa.
