Strengthening UK–Australia research collaboration

This week, Monash Engineering was delighted to welcome Professor Ian Bond, Pro Vice Chancellor for Science and Engineering at the University of Bristol.
Hosted by Professor Yiannis Ventikos Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Bond met with Monash University Provost and Senior Vice- President, Professor Tim Dunne.
His visit included a tour of Monash Engineering's Makerspace facility where students to turn ideas into prototypes; foster interdisciplinary collaboration; and bridge research with real-world engineering challenges.
Of his visit, Professor Bond said "Great discussion around many things, including AUKUS, and also a chance to see the amazing research and teaching spaces they possess."
Professor Mahmoud Mostafavi, Head of Monash Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, added "AUKUS presents a significant opportunity for higher education in the UK and Australia to collaborate deeply on both skills development and research. At Monash, we are excited to bring together like-minded, research-intensive universities in both countries, including the University of Bristol and Monash, to support this ambitious programme across Pillars I and II."
We look forward to building on this momentum and continued strengthening of this international collaboration.
