Focus areas and mission
The focus areas of the Green Infrastructure and Water Quality Lab in the department of Civil Engineering are
- healthy waterways that sustain ecological and human life
- sustainable blue-green infrastructure for protection of the environment and public health;
- water and wastewater treatment and public health within a sustainable circular economy
Vision
The GIWaQ Lab uses a multi-disciplinary approach to apply scientific and engineering innovation for the provision of essential services such as water, sanitation, hygiene, energy, food, and public healthcare.
The GIWaQ Lab is committed to inclusion, equity, teamwork, collaboration and co-development of knowledge and solutions. We believe that clean water is a basic human right that should be available to all humans. We are committed to listening deeply to people and country, to better understand traditional knowledge and develop solutions together.
