Create an eAssessment Grade Sync activity

Set up an eAssessment Grade Sync activity in Moodle to link an eExam from the eAssessment platform and automatically import student grades into the Moodle Gradebook. Learn how to create the activity, link it to an eExam, configure unit preview and grading settings, and display grades to students.
The eAssessment Grade Sync activity in Moodle creates a link to an eExam created in the eAssessment platform so that grades recorded in the eAssessment platform will be synced to Moodle Gradebook.
The eAssessment Grade Sync activity is created before the teaching period begins so students can view details of major assessments, such as scheduled final assessments, in the Moodle unit preview.
To access the eAssessment grade sync activity, you must hold at least one of the specified roles in both Moodle and the eAssessment platform.
- In Moodle, you must hold one of the following roles: VLE Administrator, Administrator, Lecturer, Non-primary Lecturer, Designer, or Chief Examiner.
- In the eAssessment platform, you must hold one of the following roles: Exam Creator, Faculty Administrator, or Chief Marker.
Follow these steps in Moodle:
- Click Turn editing on in the right hand corner of the unit banner.
- In the section where you want to add the eAssessment Grade sync activity, click Add an activity or resource.
- Select eAssessment grade sync, then click Add.
- You will be directed to the Link an eAssessment page. A list of scheduled final assessments on the eAssessment platform which you have access to will automatically appear. An example is shown below.
- If no entries appear in the list, they may not have been created for your unit yet, you can create an activity shell through Manual settings. A link can be added later through the Edit settings area.
