Reuse H5P content

Explore the different ways to reuse existing H5P activities in Moodle, including downloading a .h5p file, uploading it to the content bank, using it as a graded activity, replacing an existing version and copying items you have created. Understand which method suits your situation before making changes to shared content.

If you would like to copy the H5P object and use it in another Moodle unit, or make changes to an existing H5P activity that you are not the author of, you can download the .h5p file and and upload it into the content bank or directly into a graded H5P activity.

1. Navigate to the H5P interactive activity you would like to download.
2. Click Reuse at the bottom left of your H5P activity.
  
  Note: If you cannot see the Reuse icon, go into the H5P activity settings, under Display options, make sure the Display action bar and frame checkbox is ticked, before clicking Save.
3. The H5P activity will be downloaded as a .h5p file.
4. Save the file on your computer.
1. Navigate to the content bank.
2. Select the H5P activity you would like to download.
3. Click the More button and select Download.
  
  Note: You can download all H5P activities from the content bank of Moodle unit’s you have access to, including H5P activities that have been created by others. You can reupload the .h5p file, which will allow you to edit the H5P activity as the ‘creator’.
1. Click More in the banner menu and select Content bank to nNavigate to the Content bank (here is where you can access your H5P
  activities).
2. Click Upload.
3. Click and select a file from your computer or drag your .h5p file into the drop box.
  Note: You can only upload one .h5p file at a time.
4. Click Save.
5. Once added to the content bank, you can embed your H5P in your Moodle unit with the ATTO text editor, for example inside a label, book or lesson. See Embed a H5P activity from your content bank.
You can upload an existing H5P activity directly into a graded H5P activity(it will not be added to the content bank). For more information, see Graded H5P activity.
1. Navigate to the Content bank.
2. Select the H5P activity you would like to replace with a different version.
3. Click the More button and select Replace with file.
  Note: You can only replace files for H5P activities you are the original author of.
You can roll over the activities into a new Moodle unit, however there are some bugs that may arise when doing so. Please contact your faculty learning management systems administrator.
You can copy items you have created in the Content Bank. This will produce an exact copy of the item in question, including authorship. Note that this means copying an item created by other users means you will not be able to edit it. It is advised to instead download and re-upload in most circumstances.
