ETLab documentary officially selected at the awareness film festival 2021

Smart Home for Seniors, directed by Sarah Pink, has been selected for the 2021 Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles.

The mission of the Awareness Film Festival is to bring awareness and open eyes to some of our world's pressing issues: Ecological, Political, Health/Wellbeing and the Spirit. Smart Homes for Seniors was officially selected, to be screened in October in the Virtual Village. The film joins a group of elders in regional Australia on their 6-month journey of living with smart home technologies, in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smart Homes for Seniors was based on the Intelligent Home Solutions project through a collaboration between the Emerging Technologies Lab at Monash University and partners McLean Care and Deakin University.

The film highlights the voices of seniors which need to be accounted for when designing the technology and services which will support older generations to stay safe, independent and active at home. Smart Homes for Seniors brings their priorities, needs and experiences into view.
